Join artist and educator Alan Roberts on a four-day painting workshop in the landscape of Madison, New Hampshire. Participants will spend their days painting in the landscape at an estate in Madison, New Hampshire….

Inclusions

  • All painting supplies including: sketchbook, pencils, eraser, backpack, easel, brushes, oil paint, palette, canvases, palette knife, oil, sprit, apron, rags, paper towels, and vessels for holding oil/spirit. Participants will then keep their supplies at the end of the program so they have a full landscape-ready painting set-up to take home.

  • Daily personalized instruction in drawing and painting by Alan Roberts

  • Four nights of hotel accommodations (single or double occupancy depending on rate chosen by participant)

  • Breakfast, lunch, and dinner each day provided by the hotel

Not Included in Program Price: Airfare; personal items and expenses; airport transfers; any other items not specifically mentioned as included.

About the Artist-Educator

Alan Roberts is an artist whose studio is located at the renowned Châteaunoir, situated on the Route de Cézanne in Aix-en-Provence, where he’s been since 1977. Having studied under Leo Marchutz, Alan began teaching art history in 1982 and became Dean of the Marchutz School of Fine Arts in 1990 where he also taught drawing, painting, and aesthetics until 2020. Alan’s international exhibition record includes the Musée Granet in Aix-en-Provence as well as galleries in the U.S. and France. He has exhibited with such artists as Romare Bearden, Sam Francis, Helen Frankenthaler, Wolfe Kahn, Roy Lichtenstein, Robert Motherwell, and Paul Cézanne. He has also collaborated on several important books concerning the art of Leo Marchutz and his students. Alan has a BS in Psychology from the University of South Carolina and an MFA from The Vermont College of Fine Arts. He is fluent in French and English.

Payment

A non-refundable $1,000 enrollment deposit is due upon a participant’s registration into the program. This deposit is deducted from the final invoice – it is not an additional fee. The balance of the program fee ($6,750 for single rate, $5,500 for double rate) will be due in full by September 1, 2022. Payment may be made by check, bank transfer, or online payment (credit card processing fee may apply). Once you have filled out the above registration form, please make your deposit payment using one of the below options. Once the deposit payment has been received, your registration will be considered final.

Refund Policy

General Workshop Refund Policy

  • If a participant cancels before September 1, 2022 they will be refunded the full program fee (less the enrollment deposit).

  • If a participant cancels between September 1, 2022 and October 15, 2022 (inclusive), they will be refunded any recoverable fees (less the enrollment deposit).

  • If a participant cancels after October 15, 2022, no refund will be given.

COVID-Related
If a participant contracts COVID during the program and their participation is significantly impacted by sickness or quarantine protocols, the program will do everything possible to refund any recoverable costs recouped from their lack of participation. Nothing can be guaranteed once the program has begun, but all efforts will be made to accommodate a reasonable refund for missed activities. In addition, the program will cover the cost of all COVID testing needed for participants, as well as any additional hotel room costs needed in the event of quarantine or sickness during the official dates of the program.
